Think of all
the people in the world. Imagine how many thoughts come and go from their
heads in a days time. Imagine all the different kinds of thoughts that they
conjure up. But lets say that they are having a bad day at work and they are
daydreaming of their paradise escape. Now imagine all of the different
versions of paradise all those different people can create. Some of their
versions of paradise may have already been experienced and they are just
dreaming of returning to that spot. Or maybe they have only heard of the
spot and they are creating their paradise based on someone else's story.
Lets imagine now that it is break time in this big workplace and that all of
these people are in the break room. They begin telling their versions of
paradise one after the other. Each storyteller building on the version
before him so that their version becomes more and more grand. As they
continue to listen to each others version of paradise they collectively
begin to look forward to these places and secretly escape there in their
imaginations. They take comfort in the fact that they believe that there is
something waiting for them when the time comes.
We as Christians do this as well. When we start facing hard times or start
going through some of life's trials, we begin to look forward to what our
Father God has prepared for us as his faithful followers. We delight in the
fact that the current situation is only temporary but the paradise we dream
he creates for us is going to be for forever once we retire from this world.
Thinking on what He has waiting for us helps us get through those tough
times and trying situations. But there is more to this paradise than we can
even imagine.
The bible says that no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the human heart
conceived, what God has prepared for those who love him. That means no
matter what we base our paradise on, if it is the grand stories of our
friends or if it is a postcard, or memories of our last vacation, God will
still out do even that. What our paradise and reward for this life is going
to be, no one has ever seen it. No one has ever heard of it. In fact no one
has ever even been able to conceive the thought of what it is going to be
like. That is an awesome thought. But that principle can go even further.
When we are in those tough times and we are begging for help God is with us.
When we can see no way out He makes the way. And the great part is that He
is limitless. Why? Because no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the human
heart conceived, what God has prepared for those who love him.
